It's not because I'm in the market for one (I'm not). But because it's the ultimate in a home theater cinema setup.

After recording half of my Mixing Light series on the Future of Post Production & Color Grading... I'm rethinking the viability of super-large OLED and LCDs. Is there are home market for them? I used to think, no way.

But based on my latest research? I think, yes. Definitely.

And it turns out I've been collecting various articles on the latest batch of 4K HDR projectors. And its a good week to push them out. Enjoy!

See you next Sunday.

Happy Grading!

"As Amazon and Netflix do more theatrical plays for their movies, Imax is in talks with streaming giants to super-size their releases." I'm not sure I buy in to this. But IMAX's branding has been confusing me for years... so nothing new in that respect.

A quick article about Apple's tvOS12. The reason I've included it: The bottom includes ideas for free 4K streaming sources - beyond your typical paid streaming sources.

A few weeks ago I had an item where Bram Desmet of FSI explained the mega price increase in their OLED reference displays. I later learned that post was from a private Facebook group (which is why I couldn't find the link to it). Here's another explanation, found on the fully public Reddit /colorists sub. Read the response that begins "So, I know Bram fairly well." for a good explanation of the price increase. [via Bram Desmet]
