From The Publisher

It is official!

The 4th Annual 2016 NAB Colorist Mixer is now open for registration.

And registration is required!

This event is co-hosted by Tao Of Color, The International Colorist Academy and Mixing Light. It started out in 2012 as an informal get-together of colorists, mostly through Twitter connections—plus a few vendors who serve the colorist community.

The Colorist Mixer Now Hosts 250 Community Members for a social get-together

We rent out a venue, serve food, have a raffle (with awesome colorist-type prizes) and brainstorm ways to get us to mingle with each other. If you're attending, you can even submit your Color Correction Demo Reel, which we play in a loop on the 30 Ba-zillion displays in the restaurant.

And yes, your Reel will look different on Every. Single. Display!

That's a feature, not a bug :-)

Here's the thing. Last year we sold out quickly. Our Waiting List was over 70 people.

If you're going to be at NAB the Sunday night before the show floor opens and want to join us, then...

One of the best comments about the 2015 Colorist Mixer, "This feels like an old-school NAB party." And if you attended NAB parties in the '80s or '90s, it did! It was very social... all about finding old friends you lost contact with and connecting with new friends you've been dying to meet.

One note: The Mixer costs over $15K to produce and (almost) the entire tab is carried by our Corporate Sponsors, whose software and hardware we all use every day.

At Eventbrite, take a moment to look over their logos, click on them to check out their products—and if you're at NAB or if you're at the Mixer, thank them!

Why?

Because to help bring vendors and end-users together, The Mixer doesn't do tiered sponsorship levels (to prevent 'vendor competition'). But it also means you'll never know if one company contributed more than others; and still, they choose to support the Mixer.

So when you see them (at the Mixer or on the Show Floor), let our Sponsors know you appreciate their support of the Mixer.

Jim Wicks and I hope to see you Sunday April 17 at 7:30pm!

Let us know you're a reader and you'll get a big hug.

Now, on with the Newsletter. It's jam-packed. We'll see you next week.
