From the Publisher

At the end of September I emailed you with a Special Offer from SpectraCal. This email is a reminder that offer ENDS TODAY!

Below is a quick recap of the offer and a few links.

Feel free to share this Special Offer on Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus and wherever else post pros hang out! They'll thank you for it.

Spectracal and the Tao Newsletter

SpectraCal just joined the Tao Colorist Newsletter as an official Sponsor... ensuring this newsletter gets delivered to you 44+ Sundays per year.

As a special 'hello' to you, SpectraCal put together this bundle deal that's nearly a 50% discount off their normal pricing.

The 'Color Checker' bundle will help you determine if your reference monitor is still calibrated or if it needs to be re-aligned.

This bundle deal ends TODAY at midnight

If you want to re-read my original email about this deal (especially if you're new to the Tao Colorist Newsletter and missed it), you'll find that email archived here.

Yes, I owe you a blog post

If you plan on running this entire bundle on a single Mac laptop, it takes a bit of doing to get it set up.

Virtual Forge (the pattern generator) is Mac-only, while the CalMAN Color Checker Software requires a Windows computer.  These two computers are meant to talk to each other during the calibration process. The cool thing, you can do all this using a single Mac laptop.

Having gone through getting both of these apps running simultaneously on a single Mac laptop, I can affirm that setup is less than intuitive (and also requires the purchase of Windows virtualization software). In September I promised you a blog post to walk you through, each step of the way, helping you to get it working in a fraction of the time it took me.

Today, at the end of October, I can confirm that blog post has yet to appear.

Now that my schedule has finally offered me a pause, I can state: It'll be posted next week.
