MacPro 'Refresh'

If you've been under a rock you may not have realized that Apple released new MacPros. You certainly wouldn't know it from Apple's homepage. Most of our peers aren't very happy with this new offering.

EBay: Euphonix MC Control

I'm actually demoing this touch screen control surface while I'm editing a 60 minute doc (more on that here). If you've been in the market for one, this one is priced a little high for a used device. And it's not a Series 2. Maybe you can talk them down in price...

DaVince Resolve: European Road Show

This article covers Blackmagic's European roadshow with a 'late stage beta' of the DaVinci Resolve. Is the Mac version is a gateway drug into the Linux version?

Venue-Specific SmartPhone Apps

Have you ever sat at home, watching your favorite sports team in High-Def and laughed at the poor schmucks in the stadium who don't have your Instant Replay, DVR rewind, and field reporters giving you injury updates?

Yup. Me too.

The NY Jets & NY Giants have decided to give their stadium fans the last laugh with apps that work only inside the stadium and will provide video streams not available anywhere else.

FileMaker Pro + Motion = 129 Lower Thirds

UPDATE: MC Color training

This is the blog post where I explain when the training will be coming out - and why it isn't here yet..

This is the first tutorial I've created for TaoOfColor.com. It's not strictly about color grading - but since many graders also handle prepping and finishing duties, I thought this was a good tip to launch with.

It also allowed me some quality time with my screen capture software to figure out my workflow for the more ambitious control surface training I'm recording. The above link will take you to Vimeo. It will be posted on TaoOfColor.com in the next day or so.

Feedback on this newsletter is always appreciated.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!
