If you were looking for a tricked out replacement to the 3Way Color Corrector in FCP or After Effects, Colorista was your most likely solution. Colorista II was released this week (after an annoying 2-day Twitter campaign). Highlights includes: Integrated Mask with Inside / Outside controls, Shoulder control for recovering clipped highlights, secondaries selection in a custom UI, and more. For the 3-Way Colorists out there, you should definitely check out the demo.
I've linked to the Stu's blog (Colorista's creator) with his video tutorial on the plug-in.

The kids out at Sunday School? Got your coffee in hand? Settled into your chair? Good. You'll need the quiet time.
Snuggle up to this little article by Art Adams as he deconstructs the color science in RED's latest build. It's got everything a Tao Colorist wants to see... parade scopes deconstructed, test charts, Color FX room node trees - all for the express purpose of mucking around with RGB signals to understand why the new build looks so good.

If you ask me, what's the point of 3D TV if I can't run the signal through my receiver to switch between a 3D BluRay player and the New York Yankee's 3D broadcast over cable? This blog has some timely advice on how to make this sort of purchase.

In this case, an editorial project. Why is this making it into the Tao Colorist Newsletter? Well, I'm editing a doc over the next 4 weeks with about 50-60 hours of interviews, so this topic is heavily on my mind (and why my Euphonix MC Color training is delayed).

Bigger, better, faster. A combination good enough for Steve Austin, it's a combination good enough for me. What are the fastest 7200rpm 2TB Sata drives on the market?
