In November, the Color Grading Newsletter will have a new home - on MixingLight.com. It's the first of several changes that should be completed by December.
If you read this Newsletter via email, starting next Sunday, the 'View In Browser' link in the masthead will link to a page on MixingLight.com - and TaoOfColor.com will, most likely, redirect to that page as well.
I have a few more format changes I'll be implementing when December rolls around. I'll announce them as they happen.

(video) This Baumgartner Restoration is brilliant, as it shows an amateurish overpainting attempt that rendered the painting two dimensional. Click through and watch the overpaint being removed - particularly on the face. It's as if the original restorer was painting flesh tone by-the-numbers. It reminds me of a colorist furiously keying skin tones to align them on the 'flesh tone line' and losing the underlying human variation. This is a great watch!

I lived and worked in Manhattan for 20+ years. This article represents a forever paradox in a city that is constantly rebuilding itself. It's a fun read. But not quite so funny to experience.
